Little White Purse

I know someone who is attending a wedding next week. I felt like sewing a small purse with a cross-body strap that would go with anything.

A purse that could hold the essentials including the all important phone with camera.

It does look bridal - maybe too bridal white.
I lined it with pale pink cotton.

There is a lace zippered pocket in front for 'valuables'.
Behind that is a slip pocket for the phone.
And behind that the main pocket of the bag.
Everything from stash (yay!)

Second Polka Dot CD Holder

Two CD Holders that fit on your Car visor.
I had a custom Etsy order for one.
I sewed up two - letting customer decide. The other one will be for sale in my shop.

The second one has a bit more polka dots to go with her inspiration pieces.

I found a fabric scrap with a rocket on it. Couldn't resist sewing it on.

Sunday's sewing also included this little scrappy thing. It's to go in a zippy pouch but the fan was not cutting it anymore. Inside the house is now 81' and outside is still above 90'.
The kind of heat that gets you all cranky.
Time to log off  'cuz Blogger is crankier than me today.

Polka Dot CD Holder For Car

A customer to my Etsy shop contacted me to make a custom CD holder for her car.
She's got a serious addiction to polka dots going on.

She sent me the following photos to get an idea of what she wanted.

{I was seriously tempted to add rick rack somehow
but didn't have any of the giant white. . .}
While I still had fabrics out, I made her a pocket tissue holder too.

I might make another CD organizer - ha! you believed me when I said the fabrics were put away? using just the giant polka dot and the white with mini-black dots and a black gingham I have. Give her a choice.
I can always put  the other one in my etsy shop.

CD organizer tute is here.

Niece Graduating

My youngest niece is graduating high school this year.
I mean really! Where does the time go?

She's off to Westmont College in California next fall so I looked up her school colors and discovered I have next to nothing in Maroon & White.
I definitely have a problem with turquoise colors.

I made her a zipper Key Fob with emergency money inside and a Zippered pouch. These YKK zips are from my estate sale find a week ago. Got the big ring pull. These retail for over $4 a pop and I get to use them at less than 10 cents a project.

I filled the pouch with some Oregon State (OSU) Socks - just in case she changes her mind about schools, the key fob, an alligator critter card with the all-important auntie gift (check).

And most importantly, Creative Girl? I ended up not squirreling that pretty ribbon into one of my corners and I actually wrapped niece's gift and tied a bow with the pretty ribbon.
I'm so proud of myself.

And look - the strawberries are turning red.

Bad Ass Pinking Shears

These are the far out pinking shears I found last Saturday at an estate sale.
My estate sale 'runner' usually hangs out in the Woodburn area so it was a surprise to see her in the Portland Gateway area.
Which, oddly enough, is near my favorite fabric store, Fabric Depot.

Her sale advertised the usual estate stuff plus YARN. Yes there was boat loads of yarn and just a wee bit of sewing notions.
These are still sharp and I love the blades. They give off that "we mean business" vibe.

$5.00.

Also found, biggest covered buttons ever.
$2 ziploc -selling the rest of the notions.
I have a purpose for these if I can find the darn tutorial again.

And I just asked my creative friend if she had any jump rings on her.
hah - I find everything at garage sales.

Look at these cool tweezers. One can never have enough tweezers in life. . . or is that sewing machines. . . or is that scissors. . . patterns. . .fabric. . .
