Welcome to Running With Rocket, my rambling journal of treasures I make as well as a place to dump all my flower photos.
I made this vinyl pouch last night for this giveaway. It measures 9" square. I had second thoughts about giving this away and immediately cut out four more of these easy-to-make zipped pouches. This morning, I decided this airplane pouch would be the perfect giveaway because it shows two of my loves: sewing and flying.
I'm also thinking a 6" embroidery hoop and some DMC embroidery floss would go well with this zipped pouch....(hint)
About me: I love to sew and craft and currently, I have taken over two and a half rooms in my house in order to play. I also live on an airpark. When we want to go flying, we roll open the hangar doors and pull the plane out. The runway is at the edge of my backyard. Which I also like to play in. I live on an acre where I garden - both flowers and the edible things. The blog has turned out to be a surprisingly good place to put all those flower photos.
If you want to you can follow me on Pinterest, Twitter and/or look at my May Flowers or even follow this blog but it's not necessary. I do invite you to look around my blog.
I have an especial fondness for Sew Mama Sew as they are from my neck of the woods near Portland, Oregon. I absolutely adore all the effort they put into the sewing community. Please take time to look at all the other giveaways that have linked up this year.
To win my airplane zipped pouch filled with ?, which is open to all sew-ers, please answer my question:
What airplane(s) do I own?
Giveaway open May 12 - May 16, 2014 Friday evening. Open worldwide. |

ReplyDeleteThat would be cool to live in an air park! Fun little pouch. :)

stearman biplane. Great comment question
ReplyDeleteI read the blog where you recovered the wings of your Stearman biplane and you mentioned J-5 piper cub which are both fabric covered planes. crystalbluern at onlineok dot com
ReplyDeleteWay to go! Got both airplanes.
DeleteThank you.

You live on an airpark! Wow. I couldn't find what kind of plane you fly but would like to think it's something vintage like a bi plane.
ReplyDeleteI have one of these pouches, and it's SO useful! Thank you Kathy! Good luck to all - the Boeing 787 answer made me giggle !
ReplyDeleteMe, too.
DeleteI appreciate cheeky.
Oh, this is cute too! Handy for kids I'd imagine
ReplyDeleteI would give this to a 4 year old boy I know. I have no planes at all.
ReplyDeleteStearman biplane. I love the pouch; I'd use it to pack with goodies for my son when we fly! sarah@forrussia.org

Stearman biplane...awesome pouch!
ReplyDeleteStearman-- this is from someone who knows little about planes. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteStearman Biplane. I am so afraid of heights but flying does not bother me. I think I may take some flying lessons.
ReplyDeleteLooks like the answer is Stearman biplane which sounds way better than guessing white!
ReplyDeleteI see all the pictures from the Stearman biplane. Love that perspective of the place I also call home!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you live in an air park. That's just amazing to me. And you fly your own plane?? I'm thoroughly impressed, but have no idea what kind of plane you could have.
ReplyDeleteGreat giveaway!!
I see that you own a Stearman Biplane, what a cute airplane! (Is it ok to call a plane cute?) Also I live on the other side of the river from you. (Eastside!) lol Thank you for the giveaway, the little pouch looks like a good way to pack a snack for my kids!
ReplyDeleteFun! The Stearman Biplane
ReplyDeleteA stearman biplane. How cool!
ReplyDeleteI lost my Molly June 9th, 2012. She was 16. I can't believe it has almost been 2 years. What I wouldn't give to smell stinky breath.
How exciting, I think I said that before a biplane Stearman! I bet there are more! I went skydiving in another life and flew under the New River Bridge in a tiny plane with a great friend (he was 90 and crazy)! I love your pouch and am going to keep up with your blog! My grandson would love it (8) another plane lover! But he would have to fight me for it!
ReplyDeleteStearman biplane and a J5 piper cub.........
ReplyDeleteI peeked.
My sons think this is the coolest thing ever. We just took them for a grand day out to a restaurant right off the local airport runway.
The first person to comment has to do all the work, then the rest of us can sit back and copy: Stearman biplane and J-5 piper cub. :P Very cute and functional bag. I like the clear top so you can see what's inside, and how you can feature a favorite fabric. Great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteStearman biplane...my daughter is two and is just learning about airplanes. My husband is stationed at Travis AFB so she was able to see the huge planes there and we watched a tank drive into the plane. She was totally in awe~ What a perfect gift!
ReplyDeleteIt feels horribly like cheating, but I kinda looked at the comments, so I'm going with a Stearman biplane. ;-)
ReplyDelete(Not that I would know what one looked like, but I've flown in a little 4-person Cessna once, and absolutely loved it!)
well a Stearman Biplane, of course! very cute pouch!!
ReplyDeleteLovely blog and the answer is stearman biplane. Many thanks.
ReplyDeleteStearman biplane and J-5 piper cub. My husband and grandson would have to arm wrestle over this bag if I win. :)
ReplyDeleteA Stearman biplane on which you just recovered the wings. A j-5 piper cub. I cannot think of a more interesting, time consuming, or expensive hobby. I am awed and intrigued.
ReplyDeleteFun pouch! you have a Stearman biplane and J-5 piper cub.
ReplyDeleteStearman biplane. julia(dot)glotova(at)gmail(dot)com
ReplyDeleteI think you fly a Cessna.
ReplyDeletejachelno at gmail dot com
Love the pouch!
ReplyDeleteA Stearman Biplane! That must be such fun!
ReplyDeleteI don't know a thing about planes! I'll follow the trend and guess a Stearman biplane. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIm going to guess a Piper airplane. Only because my grandfather used to build them :)
ReplyDeleteThanks

Stearman biplane and J-5 piper! This is gorgegous!!!
ReplyDeleteStearman Biplane
ReplyDeleteYou own a Stearman Biplane.Great pouch the fabric was a wonderful choice!
ReplyDeleteHa! I don't know! Maybe your own private jet? Hehe :D
ReplyDeleteI'm completely clueless when it comes to planes!! I wouldn't even be able to tell the differences!! But awesome that you have one!
ReplyDeleteI think you have a Boeing PT-17 stearman. My husband got to fly in one a long time ago. How exciting to live at the air park. Love the airplane fabric.
ReplyDeleteSearching through your blog tells me to go with the answer "Stearman BiPlane". If my dad were here, I know he would be able to tell me all kinds of little details about your plane: how it handles, what can cause a pilot to have trouble with it, and likely a funny story about flying one or a friend who had an adventure in one. Dad was a fighter pilot in WWII and Korea. I miss hearing those tales.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. You have a Stearman bi-plane and maybe a B-17 --plus you have lots of airplane items: stickers little metal airplanes, pictures, and even an airplane quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love flying also. I have ridden on an ultra-light and it was pure magic. I am thinking the Bi-Plane is a similar feeling. One thing on my bucket list is to do a parachute buddy jump. Yes, I would jump out of a perfectly good plane! ha ha.
I saw the post on the Stearman Bi-plane…but you may have more. With re-covering the wings…talk about pressure. If my stitches are junky and come unraveled I'm not going to fall out of the lap quilt and fall 3000ft off the couch….. That's intense!
ReplyDeleteThe Stearman Biplane
ReplyDeleteI'd put crayons and a little notebook for coloring on the go. Thanks for the chance! :)
